From Dark & Dated to Light & Clean: A Transformative Home Remodel

There’s something magical about stepping into a home that feels bright, airy, and open. Especially when that home used to be dark warm and weighed down by heavier materials from design eras long ago. In this remodel, we completely reimagined a once-traditional home, transforming it into a modern, clean design filled with light, shades of white, and refreshing splashes of blue.

The Heart of the Home: A White and Blue Kitchen

In the kitchen, wood cabinets were painted and lightened with Benjamin Moore’s White Dove creating a fresh start. We introduced a classic white & blue scheme to maintain a fresh feel, while a striking blue island adds dimension. New lighting brings a finishing touch.

Furnishings & Décor: Keeping It Light Yet Elegant

Furnishings were an important part of this remodel transformation. To maintain this theme, we selected furniture in light colors, such as cream or white sofas with blue accent pillows. We included natural materials, like woven rugs and jute baskets, adding warmth without the heaviness of the home’s original design.

Accents to Bring the Design All Together

While the color palette remained consistent throughout the home, we used blue as the main accent color to capture the eye and provide balance in the space. Every pop of blue contributes to the calm, airy atmosphere without overwhelming the space and providing flexibility for the future.

The once-heavy space now feels like a refreshed getaway, filled with light and soothing shades. This transformation proves that sometimes a simple shift in color and some paint with strategic furnishings can make all the difference, bringing new life and energy into a home. We make living beautiful.
